About Setmixer

At Setmixer, we're bringing live recordings back. Our mission is to make sure no live show is ever lost. We capture the raw energy and talent of live performances in studio-quality audio - we call it a "setmix": a high-quality recording of a show, just as it happened - unpolished, intimate, and real.

We're reviving the beloved tradition of live recordings for the digital age, building automated infrastructure that captures every show, every night, every artist with studio-quality multitrack recording (24bit/48kHz) and 12-hour turnaround times.

Our three core principles guide everything we do:

  1. Artist-First: Music starts with the artist. So do we. Nothing gets shared, sold, or streamed unless the artist says so.

  2. Access to All: Whether an artist has two fans or twenty thousand, we're here for you.

  3. Inclusive Innovation: To us, innovation means building systems that include everyone: artists, venues, and promoters. Our revenue-sharing model reflects that.

Why This Moment Matters

We've just launched our public marketplace. For the first time, we're marketing directly to audiences, fan bases, and the wider public - not just venues and artists.

We've spent two years building infrastructure in grassroots venues across the UK in 100 to 300-cap rooms where artists build their first core fans. The technology works. Now those recordings are available to everyone through our marketplace.

And we're about to launch our roaming recorder: a 4G-enabled, battery-powered, and portable device. Artists can take Setmixer on tour with them anywhere. A touring artist performing 20-50 shows can reach 20,000-100,000+ fans per tour.

Think about it: for the first time, hundreds of thousands of fans will get access to the live recording of the show they just went to, or the shows that they missed. And thousands of artists will start earning a real income through our “audio merch”, while we handle all the work. All through Setmixer.

You're joining us right as we shift from B2B infrastructure to a B2B2C marketplace and launch our touring initiative. That timing matters.

The Role

You'll be our first marketing hire. You own the strategy and execution.

This is hands-on: you'll shoot videos, design graphics, write copy, create social content, and build campaigns yourself. But you also own the strategy: develop the plan, create tests with KPIs, execute, learn, iterate. No waiting for approvals - you drive the program.

Your challenge: build marketing across grassroots venues (100-300 cap) and touring platform (10k+ audiences). Market to venue audiences discovering artists. Market to touring artists and their teams. Market to fanbases. Market to the broader public.

You work directly with the CEO, COO and the Setmixer team as our marketing owner. You propose a strategy, get buy-in, and execute. You identify what to test, how to measure it, and what we learn. You decide what content to create and which campaigns to run.

Full ownership. You shape positioning, messaging, audience priorities, and growth strategy. As we scale internationally, you'll build a team beneath you.

What You'll Do

Own Strategy & Execution

  • Develop B2B marketing (venues, artist teams, managers) and B2C marketing (audiences, fanbases, public)

  • Create testing frameworks with KPIs, execute, measure, iterate

  • Make data-driven decisions about where to invest effort

Create Content Daily

  • Shoot and edit demo videos and social content

  • Design promotional graphics and campaign assets

  • Own social media (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X) with original content

  • Create fan-focused content that drives marketplace discovery

Drive Growth

  • Execute campaigns for touring artists, managers, venue audiences, and fanbases

  • Produce case studies (video and written)

  • Build relationships with venues, artists, and management teams

  • Test and optimise across different audiences

  • Represent Setmixer at shows and events (camera in hand)

You define success, measure it, and adjust based on results. You tell us what we should be doing and why.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • 1-2 years of hands-on marketing and content creation experience

  • Ability to develop and own marketing strategy, not just execute tasks

  • Genuine passion for live music - you go to shows, you get why live recordings matter

  • Strong video shooting and editing skills - comfortable creating social content yourself

  • Graphic design skills - Canva at minimum, Adobe Creative Suite a plus

  • Social media native - you create content that performs on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter

  • Strong copywriting for multiple audiences (B2B and B2C)

  • Data-driven mindset - you set KPIs, measure results, learn, iterate

  • Self-starter who takes ownership - you drive programs, not wait for direction

  • Organised - juggling strategy with content creation and campaign execution

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions independently

Nice to have:

  • Photography skills for live music and product shots

  • Motion graphics or animation experience

  • Understanding of grassroots and touring music ecosystems

  • Email marketing platforms, analytics tools

  • Connections to venues, managers, agents, labels

  • Experience marketing marketplace or platform products

  • Startup experience where you owned outcomes

What we actually care about:

You're a strategic maker. You can develop a marketing strategy in the morning, shoot a demo video at lunch, and analyse campaign results in the afternoon. You create social content that people actually want to watch. You write copy that connects. You set your own goals and hit them. You love live music at all levels and understand why capturing these moments matters. You take full ownership. You're resourceful - figure out how to make great content and effective campaigns with limited resources. You thrive when given autonomy.

Success Timeline

First 2 months: Develop initial B2B and B2C marketing strategies. Establish consistent social content showcasing marketplace recordings. Create demo and case study videos for the launch of the touring recorder. Launch first test campaigns with clear KPIs. Build relationships with key venues and artist teams.

Months 3-4: Show measurable results from initial campaigns. Iterate based on learnings. Drive marketplace discovery through social and content. Scale what's working. Create repeatable processes. Demonstrate that you understand what drives growth.

Months 5-12: Own end-to-end marketing strategy and execution. Demonstrate clear ROI on campaigns. Help shape the marketing strategy across new product launches and internationally. Identify what marketing hire #2 should focus on.

Year 2+: Lead marketing as we introduce new products and scale internationally. Build and manage a marketing team. Own the entire marketing function.

Why This Role is Different

  • Full ownership. You own the strategy and execution. No waiting for approvals. You decide, execute, measure, and learn.

  • Launch moment. We've been a B2B infrastructure. We have now launched a B2B2C marketplace. You build this from day one.

  • Strategic + hands-on. Develop the strategy, then create the content yourself.

  • Real access. Create content at grassroots shows and tour dates. Work with artists and their teams.

  • Category creation. No one else is marketing live recording marketplaces like this. You define what works.

  • Career acceleration. Own outcomes. Build a strategic and creative portfolio. Eventually lead a team.

What We Offer

  • £25,000-£30,000 (top end for candidates with proven strategic and content skills)

  • Equity potential as we scale

  • Full ownership of marketing function - you drive strategy and decisions

  • Free show access across grassroots venues and tour dates (content opportunities)

  • Hybrid: 3 days London, 2 days remote (flexibility for attending shows)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Learning budget for tools, courses, and equipment

  • Access across the music ecosystem - venues, artists, managers, labels

  • Creative and strategic freedom to experiment

  • Casual, flexible, music-loving team

One More Thing

If you tick 80% but not 100%, apply anyway. But you need both strategic thinking AND content creation skills.

This is rare: full ownership of marketing strategy plus hands-on content creation. You'd be developing go-to-market for our marketplace and touring recorder, creating content that introduces us to the public. Building campaigns that drive real growth. Defining what works.

Five years from now, when Setmixer is standard across venues and touring, you'll either think "I wish I'd been part of that" or "I built the marketing that made that happen."

Which story do you want to tell?

Equal Opportunity & Inclusion
